Slate is a place to learn. These are the rules that keep it that way. They're short on purpose.
Treat people the way you would in a real classroom. No harassment, no bullying, no pile-ons. Disagree with ideas, not people.
Be yourself. Don't pretend to be someone else, a teacher, or the Slate team. Impersonation gets accounts removed.
Slate is used by students of every age. No hate speech, slurs, explicit content, or threats in usernames, decks, notes, or games.
Share study material honestly. No spam, no scams, and no passing off answer keys as your own work.
Don't post other people's personal information. Keep phone numbers, addresses, and private photos off public titles and profiles.
Tap the ••• menu on any profile, deck, or game and choose Report. You can block someone at the same time. Reports are private. The person you report is never told who reported them.
A real person reviews every report, usually within 24 hours. Content that gets several independent reports is hidden automatically while we take a look. If something breaks these rules we remove it, and repeat offenders lose their accounts.
