Cookie Policy

Draft — not yet effective · Last edited 2026-07-13

This is a working draft for review. It is not the final policy, it is not published, and it is not legal advice. The wording will change after review by counsel.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Slate uses them to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the app is used.

Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary — sign-in, session, and security. These are always on.
  • Functional — preferences like language and theme.
  • Analytics — privacy-respecting, aggregate usage. Off by default in the EU and UK.
  • Marketing — off everywhere unless you opt in; we do not run cross-site ad tracking at launch.

Your choices

When you first visit, you can accept all, reject non-essential, or customize by category. You can change your choice any time from the cookie settings link in the footer. Your choice is stored and honored on the server and the client.

Analytics posture

We use privacy-first analytics and do not use Google Analytics or ad-network pixels. See the Privacy Policy for the full data picture.

Changes

We will update this policy here as our cookie use changes.
